Mo is the Chief Executive Officer at Prime Quadrant. Prior to Prime Quadrant, Mo founded and led organizations in industries as diverse as education, auto restoration, e-commerce and microfinance.
Philanthropically, Mo is the current Chairman of CAF Canada, the Prime Quadrant Conference and the Prime Quadrant Foundation. Mo also sits on the boards of several non-profit organizations including, Young Presidents Organization (YPO), Hebrew University and Holland Bloorview Hospital.
Mo has served on numerous investment committees and had a five-year tenure as the Chief Executive Officer of Yeshiva University (Canada), where he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of strategic development, recruitment and managing the Canadian endowment.
Mo has also authored or co-authored four books including, Partners in Preservation: How to Know Your Advisor Is Truly Protecting Your Wealth, The Philanthropic Mind: Surprising Discoveries from Canada’s Top Philanthropists, In Search of the Prime Quadrant: The Quest for Better Investment Decisions, and Selling Snake Oil: Investment Lessons from the World’s Greatest Frauds.
In recognition of Mo’s contributions to the community and innovative leadership, Mo has been selected as the recipient of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 Award. However, his greatest distinction continues to be his extraordinary wife and five adorable children.
Mo holds multiple degrees, Magna Cum Laude, from Yeshiva University, and an MBA from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.
Davee is a Principal & Managing Director at Prime Quadrant and a veteran of the securities industry in Canada having held a number of senior executive positions over the past 30+ years.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Davee was President & CEO of Hahn Investment Stewards & Company Inc. (acquired by Industrial Alliance in 2012). Davee started her career in financial services at Richardson Securities, subsequently served as an officer, director and shareholder of Yorkton Securities, then co-founded Allied Canadian Development Corporation in 1988, a diversified real estate corporation that engages in the acquisition and development of commercial properties in Canada – Allied Properties REIT (TSX:AP.UN). Prior to Hahn, she was Vice Chair of Abria Financial Group, a firm recognized as a leader in the alternative investment business in Canada.
Davee has served on the Education Committee and as an instructor for the Canadian Securities Institute, the Sales Practices Committee of the Canadian Chapter of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) and is frequently cited for her education-based approach in the investment community.
Davee currently serves as a Director of the Prime Quadrant Foundation and on the Investment Committee for the Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She was a former co-Chair and member of the board of Shalom Village – a Long Term Care Organization affiliated with McMaster University Faculty of Health Sciences, and was actively involved in the $3 million capital campaign for Rose Cherry’s Home – now the Darling Home for Kids.
Jeremy Rosmarin is a Principal & Managing Director of Prime Quadrant. His responsibilities include overall management and strategy for Prime Quadrant’s investment research team as well as significant investment and client service activities. Jeremy is a member of the Prime Quadrant Executive Committee.
Since joining Prime Quadrant, Jeremy has been actively involved in developing and managing the company’s investment due diligence, client advisory, financial reporting systems and internal structure. He has directly engaged in the analysis and structuring of more than $1 billion of acquisitions, debt and other capital transactions related to real estate, credit and private equity.
Jeremy graduated from McGill University, earning a degree in economics with distinction, and is a CFA Charterholder.
Jeremy is a member of the Board of Director for ATS Services, Canada’s leading provider of traffic services and meteorological observations to NAV Canada and government agencies across the country. He has led workshops on various investment-related subjects, including Value Investing, Manager Selection, and Investor Education, and is co-author of In Search of the Prime Quadrant: The Quest for Better Investment Decisions.
Andrew Doman is a Principal and Chief Operating Officer of Prime Quadrant.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Andrew has spent the last 20 years in the financial industry including holding senior roles as CFO of Turtle Creek Asset Management, COO of Man Investments Canada, and COO of Abria Financial Group. Andrew also served as Deputy Chair of the Canadian arm of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA).
Andrew received his MBA from the University of Toronto in 1998 and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto in 1994.
Outside of the office, Andrew enjoys spending time with his active and sports minded family and serves as a director and Treasurer for the Oakville Soccer Club.
Jamie Spinner is a Principal and Senior Consultant at Prime Quadrant. He provides investment consulting advice and serves as a trusted advisor to a number of our families. Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Jamie was an Investment Manager at a single family office in Toronto and prior to that was a Senior Manager in Corporate Finance at Grant Thornton.
Jamie has a diverse background in financial services, spanning wealth management, institutional equity research, corporate finance and private market M&A. Jamie has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University. Jamie also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and has completed the Canadian Securities and Exempt Market Dealer courses.
Jamie is an avid skier, devoted Montreal Canadiens fan and enjoys traveling with his family. Jamie sits on the Leo Baeck Day School Board of Directors and is a member of its Investment Committee.
Terry is a Principal and Senior Consultant at Prime Quadrant. He has over 20 years of experience in investment counselling, portfolio management, equity research, project finance and engineering.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Terry was an Investment Counselor at WaterStreet Family Offices. He started his investment management career at Toron Capital Markets (now part of the Cidel Group) where he was a Partner and Head of Equity Research. He then co-headed the investment team and headed portfolio management for UBS’ Wealth Management business in Canada (UBS Investment Management Canada Inc.).
Terry is a member of CFA Institute as well as CFA Society Toronto where he has been an active volunteer – most recently as Chair of the Society’s Private Client Committee. He has also taught candidates preparing to write their Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exams.
Terry has a degree in Engineering from McMaster University, is a Professional Engineer (Ontario), has an MBA from the University of Toronto and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He currently serves on the Investment Committee at The Atmospheric Fund (TAF) and is past Chair of the Board of Directors of kids.now – a not-for-profit after school program that mentors grade 7 and 8 kids and gives them tools to make the right choices for healthy, satisfying and productive lives.
Alex Da Costa is the Head of Investments at Prime Quadrant.
Alex comes to Prime Quadrant with 20 years of experience working in Alternative Investments, doing both research and portfolio management. Before joining Prime Quadrant, Alex was Head of Hedge Fund Advisory at Pavilion Alternatives Group, a subsidiary of Pavilion Financial Corporation which was acquired by Mercer in November 2018. His primary role at Pavilion and then Mercer was providing customized discretionary and non-discretionary hedge fund solutions for the firm’s institutional clients. Prior to that he was the Head of Portfolio Construction in the Alternative Investment Group at ABN AMRO Asset Management before leaving to co-found SilverStreet Captial LLP in 2007. His responsibilities at those firms included the management of both funds of hedge funds and advisory hedge fund mandates.
Alex received a MSc in Finance from the University of Reading in 1999 and a BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Southampton University in 1994.
Jinal Patel is the Head of Finance at Prime Quadrant.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Jinal was a Team Lead in the Operational Due Diligence (ODD) group of Albourne Partners based in Toronto. As a member of the ODD team, Jinal evaluated and monitored alternative investment managers and funds across various strategies. During her time with Albourne, she was a member of their Global ESG ODD Committee and actively engaged in promoting Diversity and Inclusion within the industry. Before Albourne, Jinal spent five years with Deloitte, most recently as a Manager, leading audit and advisory engagements for financial institutions.
Jinal received her Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies from the University of Western Ontario. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
Outside of the office, Jinal enjoys spin, hiking and travelling to new places.
Wayne is a Senior Consultant at Prime Quadrant. He brings to his clients the experience and investing knowledge earned during an international career in finance, spanning 25 years and counting.
Starting in Toronto with RBC Dominion Securities, moving on to become a seasoned professional over 9 years in New York City with Goldman, Sachs & Co., he was then recruited to Hong Kong where he worked for Deutsche Bank, Citigroup and Société Générale over a 12-year stint, mainly focused on equity derivatives. Wayne has advised and serviced many sophisticated professional investors, including some of the world’s most prominent sovereign wealth, pension and hedge funds.
Wayne graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Actuarial Science and was awarded the London Life Gold Medal. Concurrently he earned his professional qualification as an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA). He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Outside of work he is the father of two teenaged boys and has been pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable it has been becoming a dedicated CrossFit athlete.
Peter is a Senior Consultant & Director of Co-Investments at Prime Quadrant.
Peter has over 30 years of business development and relationship management experience, working with institutional and family office investors. He has been increasingly involved with alternative investments for a number of years.
Prior to Prime Quadrant, Peter had worked at Kensington Capital in Toronto, and previously for two alternatives investment managers in the U.S. Before that he had been in senior roles with Russell Investments and Citigroup, both in Canada and the U.S.
Peter has a B. Comm. (Economics) from the University of Toronto and an M.B.A. from Columbia University. He is a member of the Investment Committee of the Holland- Bloorview Hospital and was a former member of the Investment Committee of the Jewish Federation of Greater Toronto
Peter is a Senior Consultant at Prime Quadrant and has over 30 years of portfolio management and investment research experience. His background includes actively managing portfolios of both public and alternative assets.
Previously Peter was an Investment Specialist at Sprott Private Wealth, where he reviewed investments for the firm and its advisors. Prior to Sprott he had senior roles at two single-family offices in Toronto where his responsibilities as Chief Investment Officer included direct private equity investments, alternative partnerships, public equities and hedge fund investments. Peter was Vice-President and Director at TD Capital, leading investments in subordinated loans and private equity funds. He was one of the first investment professionals of TD’s private equity fund-of-funds which grew to become Northleaf Capital. Peter’s experience with alternative investments began at OMERS pension fund where he was Senior Portfolio Manager, managing the private equity portfolio.
Peter has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from Queen’s University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Schulich School of Business at York University. Peter holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Toronto CFA Society.
Alex Gould is the Director of Leadership & Family Dynamics Consulting at Prime Quadrant.
Alex holds over 8 years of experience dealing with communication, leadership, and culture coaching and consulting. Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Alex worked for an entrepreneurial coaching consulting company where he worked with over a thousand entrepreneurs to build their team, strengthen their communication, and improve trust amongst their client relations.
Before joining Prime Quadrant, Alex applied his expertise with Creaghan McConnell Group where he helped build a new area of focus on servicing and connecting the Next Generation of Canadian Business Leaders and growing attention to company culture.
Alex holds a BA in Political Theory and a minor in Art History from the University of Guelph. He also holds certificates in training and communication tools such as Kolbe, and DISC profiles.
Alex enjoys being just as creative outside of work, often found playing volleyball and tennis as well as reading and drawing. He loves to explore new cities and is always looking for great new restaurants and attractions.
Stephen serves as the Director of Operations for Prime Quadrant.
Stephen brings over 12 years of experience in the Alternative Investment landscape, with a focus on the Operations & Fund Administration facets of the industry. Before joining Prime Quadrant, Stephen worked with CommonWealth Fund Services as a Senior Investor Relations Associate, dealing with institutional Fund Managers & Accredited Investors. Prior to this, Stephen spent the majority of his career with Vision Capital Corporation, a Private Equity Fund Manager, specializing in publicly traded Real Estate Securities, catering to high net worth individuals. Stephen served as the Director of Administration & Investor Relations for Vision Capital, and throughout his career, has gained experience and expertise in dealing with the myriad of Administrative, Compliance, Operational, and Regulatory requirements of the investment business, including but not limited to both private and publicly traded securities as well as various Hedge Funds and alternative investment products.
Stephen graduated from the University of Toronto, with a Bachelor of Commerce, and has completed the CSC and CPH from the Canadian Securities Institute as well as the EMP from the Investment Funds Institute of Canada.
Outside of the office, Stephen is a fitness enthusiast who enjoys practicing yoga, weightlifting and mindfulness.
Reva Luft is Director of Communications at Prime Quadrant, and Program Director for our annual Prime Quadrant Conference.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Reva worked in business development at BMO Nesbitt Burns. She holds a strong background in investor relations and retail banking, having previously worked for both a small merchant bank and with Scotiabank.
Reva holds an MSc in Management from University College of London, and a BA in Economics from McGill University.
Reva enjoys being active outside of work, frequenting circuit classes and hot yoga. She is also our in house “trending restaurants” guru.
Karen is the Chief Risk Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Prime Quadrant.
Karen brings to Prime Quadrant over 25 years of investment industry experience including, currency option trading, pension plan management, portfolio analytics, private equity administration, and family office investment management. Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Karen was a Managing Director and the Chief Risk Officer at Westcourt Capital Corporation.
Karen received her Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder.
She enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle of running, skiing, cottaging and travelling.
Nancy Marshall is the Director of Strategy and Development at Prime Quadrant. She is responsible for the firms’ strategic engagement efforts. Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Nancy worked with ultra-affluent families at BMO Private Wealth and at Scotia McLeod. She also worked in capital markets and corporate finance both in New York and Toronto for JPMorgan Chase. Nancy holds an MBA in Accounting from Saint Mary’s University and a BComm in Marketing and Management from Mount Allision University. She also holds the Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA) designation. Aside from being busy with her husband and three teenagers, Nancy is also a competitive equestrian and an active board member of Action Against Hunger – Canada.
Angela is the Director of Family Office Services at Prime Quadrant.
Angela began her career as an articling student at Deloitte in Calgary. Angela worked with both the audit and tax teams throughout her twelve years with the firm, and rounded out her tenure as a Senior Tax Manager in the Private Company Services group. Angela was a trusted advisor working closely with her clients through corporate reorganizations, the implementation of strategies associated with estate and succession planning, and the completion of corporate, trust, and personal tax compliance.
Angela then transitioned into her role as the Director of Tax and Accounting at Canadian Family Futures. As a multi-family office specializing in the successful transition of wealth over generations, she worked closely with high net worth families as their Chief Financial Officer. Angela focused on reducing complexity and preserving capital to achieve the family’s financial goals. She provided proactive management and oversight of her client’s financial affairs including tax planning, cash flow management, budgeting and credit needs as well as financial education for the next generation.
Angela graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters of Professional Accounting. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and has completed levels I and II of the In Depth Tax Program.
When she’s not at the hockey rink, football field or music studio with her young family, Angela enjoys travelling and spending time in the outdoors.
Trish Wilson is Director of Client Satisfaction.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Trish spent over 10 years at RBC in Client Care Management and Private Banking where year over year she earned top scores on national client satisfaction surveys.
Outside of work Trish is deeply connected to her community and can be found hosting monthly campfires in the park, visiting museums, attending concerts, square dancing and exploring the city either on foot or bicycle. She has traveled to the Philippines to volunteer, organized clothing drives, co-chaired the Employee Giving Campaign at RBC and has mentored newcomers with TRIEC – Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council. Trish is thrilled to be co-captain (and head cheerleader!) of the Prime Quadrant softball team.
Zubair is a Consultant at Prime Quadrant. He has over 20 years of experience in investment counselling, portfolio management and fixed income and foreign exchange research.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Zubair was a Senior Portfolio Construction analyst at RBC PH&N Investment Counsel where he provided Investment Counsellors with advice, support and training on all aspects of discretionary portfolio management, portfolio construction and investment policy statement development.
Zubair is a member of the CFA Institute as well as the CFA Society Toronto where he has been an active volunteer and current Vice Chair of the Society’s Private Wealth Committee. Zubair has a Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree in Economics from the University of B.C. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Zubair lives in Toronto and enjoys being active in the community and raising his daughter.
Isaac is the Associate Director of Investments at Prime Quadrant.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Isaac worked as an Investment Analyst in the Quantitative Equities Team at TD Asset Management and co-authored a research paper on the low volatility anomaly that was published by Canadian Investment Review.
Isaac graduated from the John Molson School of Business with a Bachelor in Commerce, Finance and is a CFA Charterholder. At John Molson, Isaac participated in Concordia’s co-op program where he gained experience in asset management and corporate finance before joining TD Asset Management.
Conner is an associate consultant at Prime Quadrant.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Conner was a portfolio strategist and director of business development at Lawrence Park Asset Management, a Canadian-based long/short credit hedge fund. He was responsible for product development, product strategy and distribution through the national advisory and family office channels. Conner also held various roles at CI Investments, in sales and marketing strategy and product and investment research.
Conner has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Conner is an avid squash player and golfer and enjoys spending time with friends and family, doing word and math puzzles and travelling specifically to areas of the world with a beach to surf at.
Jake Darlington is an Associate Consultant at Prime Quadrant.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Jake was an investment banking analyst at CIBC World Markets where he assisted companies in the consumer, industrial and telecommunications industries on accessing the capital markets and executing on mergers & acquisitions. Prior thereto, Jake worked alongside management teams to plan and implement various strategic initiatives as a member of PwC’s management consulting practice.
Jake holds a BBA with high distinction from the Lazaridis School of Business & Economics, and a minor in psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University. He was a member of the Laurier Student Investment Fund and has completed the CFA level I exam.
In his spare time Jake enjoys travelling and staying active by playing a variety of sports, including football, basketball, tennis and golf.
Sofia is a Senior Private Client Associate at Prime Quadrant.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Sofia was a Senior Client Management and Operations Associate at State Street Bank. She was responsible for the day-to-day servicing of client relationships, acting as a primary point of contact for client inquiries and requests. She also acted as a liaison between all internal teams to effectively meet client demands. Additionally, she proactively monitored the settlement of OTC and market trades to ensure timely execution.
Sofia graduated with a BBA with a specialization in Finance from the University of Toronto.

Joel Ferkul is Manager of Data, Systems & Technology.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Joel worked in data analytics at Westcourt Capital aggregating their data collection procedures and standardizing their reporting process. He has a strong background building, implementing, and integrating analytics solutions in a range of industries and brings a diverse toolset to help scale and automate business processes.
Joel graduated from Ryerson University, with a Bachelor of Commerce specializing in Business Technology Management.
Joel enjoys being outdoors biking or playing hockey. Outside of being active he enjoys watching new films and exploring innovative trends in the technical space.
Deji is a Private Client Associate at Prime Quadrant.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Deji was an Investment Services Representative at RBC Direct Investing. At RBC DI, he provided client support to various RBC Businesses including RBC Wealth Management and Dominion Securities. His primary functions included stock and options order executions, administration of client accounts, and the development of incremental business. Prior to RBC DI, Deji worked as a Banking Advisor at an RBC branch in both transactional and client service roles.
Originally from Nigeria, Deji attended high school in Northern BC before studying at McMaster University graduating with a B.A. in Economics in 2013. He is a CFA Level 2 candidate and has passed a number of the Canadian Securities Institute courses.
Eric Kourtis is a Private Client Associate at Prime Quadrant.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Eric worked in client services with a focus on investments at CIBC. He began his career working for some of the largest CIBC branches in Toronto, where he gained a strong background in client experience and retail banking.
Eric holds a diploma in Business Administration and Management from George Brown College.
Outside of Prime Quadrant, Eric can be found playing on various softball and soccer teams, reading comics, or playing video games.
Janet Taylor is a Private Client Associate and Assistant to Jeremy Rosmarin, Principal and Managing Director.
Janet brings to Prime Quadrant over 20 years of experience working with multi-family offices and ultra-high net-worth families. Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Janet worked at Scotia Wealth Management and at a private Family Office Firm, working closely with Partners, Portfolio Managers and Advisors, delivering first-class client service.
Devoted to service excellence and always interested in opportunities to learn, Janet takes ownership of every task with the goal of delivering on time, every time.
Janet graduated with a Diploma in Accounting and Secretarial from LaSalle Adult Education Centre in Montréal, Québec.

Jordan Cohen is a Private Client Associate, working closely with Senior Consultant and Managing Director Davee Gunn.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Jordan worked with a team servicing high net-worth individuals at Richardson GMP. His time at Wolf Capital Management allowed him to gain greater insight into the world of public markets.
Jordan majored in financial services and accounting as part of the Bachelor of Commerce program at George Brown College.
Jordan is an avid sports fan and participant, regularly playing basketball, hockey, golf and baseball. He considers himself to be the official PQ Barista, and is happy to talk all things coffee anytime.
Nic Vangog is a Private Client Associate at Prime Quadrant.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Nic was a Client Service Associate working with alternative investments at State Street Corporation. At State Street, he acted as a primary point of contact for institutional clients and was responsible for the oversight of all fund activity, as well as prioritizing and delegating inquiries among internal teams.
Nic graduated from St. Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Economics and was an ECAC Academic All-American. He has since completed the Canadian Securities Course and is a CFA level 1 candidate.
Anne Marie Espiritu is Office Manager at Prime Quadrant.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Anne Marie was devoted to the Client Service experience at a private golf course in the GTA where she was responsible for achieving excellent member satisfaction.
Anne Marie also brings experience as an Operations Supervisor where she coordinated day to day functionalities to ensure the efficiency and productivity of the organization while leading the service team.
Anne Marie has a Hospitality Degree from George Brown College.
Ashley Faintuch is Executive Assistant to the CEO and a Communications Associate.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Ashley worked for the President of the Treasury Board of Canada. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Winnipeg.
In her spare time, Ashley enjoys volunteering in her community, being the social coordinator amongst her friends, and learning as much as she can on topics of interest.
Dennis Ly is an Operation Associate at Prime Quadrant.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Dennis was an associate at State Street Corporation where he was responsible for daily trade management, managing risk and preparing evaluation reports for alternative investment vehicles. He also acted as a liaison between internal teams and a primary point of contact for institutional clients to address inquiries and requests.
Dennis graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies. He has completed the Canadian Securities Course and the Conduct and Practices Handbook Course. Dennis is a CFA level 2 candidate.
Dennis grew up playing a variety of sports and remains an avid runner. When he isn’t working, Dennis enjoys playing golf, hockey and trying out new restaurants.
Shaloke Kaunds is an Operations Associate at Prime Quadrant.
Prior to joining Prime Quadrant, Shaloke worked at Integral Wealth Securities where he was the central point of contact for advisor inquiries and requests, and at TD as a Credit Analyst.
Shaloke graduated from Western University with an Honors degree in Global Economics, has completed his CSC, all CAIA exams and is a CFA level 2 candidate.
Outside of Prime Quadrant, Shaloke enjoys playing basketball, soccer and golf.
Ian is the Chairman Emeritus of Prime Quadrant. He has been assisting wealthy families with their financial strategies, investing and structuring for over 30 years.
A graduate of the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, Ian placed first in the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants’ Final Qualifying Examination in Auditing. Ian is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, a Certified Investment Management Analyst, a Chartered Life Underwriter and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
Ian has a distinguished track record as an entrepreneur having successfully established, purchased, run and sold several businesses. He was a senior officer at Henry Schein, the world’s largest company serving in-office health-care practitioners, where he established Henry Schein Financial Services and was responsible for the practice management software division, which serves more than 50,000 professional health-care practices in the United States.
Besides serving on several corporate boards and the board of an Alberta-based chartered trust company, Ian is actively involved with a number of charitable organizations, and serves as the chair of CFHU’s investment committee.
As Chief Brand and Marketing Officer Bill led the marketing & brand strategy for Tim Hortons for almost 25 years – January 1990/August 2014 – and played a key role in developing the brand to its iconic status in the Canadian market. He was responsible for the overall strategic brand planning and execution of the chain marketing programs; including national brand advertising, regional/local marketing, sponsorships and consumer research. In addition Bill was responsible for menu/product research and development, quality control, corporate communications, and corporate social responsibility.
In 1997, Bill was chosen as Marketer of the Year by Marketing Magazine. In 2005, US based Advertising Age selected Bill as one of the Top 10 Marketers World-wide; and in 2010 Strategy Magazine chose Tim Hortons as Brand of the Decade. In 2014 the Association of Canadian Advertisers selected Bill as its Gold Medal recipient.
In 2012 Bill was a recipient of The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Prior to joining Tim Hortons, Bill gained extensive sales and marketing management experience with K-Tel, Shell Oil and Labatt Breweries.
In addition to his role as CMO, Bill was also President of the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation from 2008 to 2015.
Bill sits on a number of for profit and not for profit Advisory Boards. And is the Chairman /Partner of a marketing agency called Upstream Content Creation.
Brian Shaw, CFA, is a financial industry executive with particular expertise in capital market and investing activities, and is a private investor and corporate advisor. Brian was the Chairman and CEO of CIBC World Markets from 2005 through 2008 and prior to that managed the Global Equities Division for a number of years. He is currently a Corporate Director for Encana Corporation, as well as NuVista Energy Ltd. (an oil and gas resource company), Manulife Bank of Canada (a private chartered bank), Manulife Trust Company (a private trust company) and Ivey Canadian Exploration Ltd. (a private exploration company). Brian has also served on the boards of Patheon Inc., PrairieSky Royalty Ltd., and was the Chairman of TMX IP Governance Committee.
Chiko Nanji is the Group Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Metro Supply Chain Group. Metro operates approximately 45 logistics centers totaling in excess of 12mm sq. ft in North America and Europe and employs over six thousand people. Mr. Nanji is also Chairman of LDC Logistics Development Corporation, a leading real estate, development, and investment company.
Walied Soliman is the Canadian chair of Norton Rose Fulbright. He is also co-chair of the Norton Rose Fulbright Canadian special situations team, which encompasses Canada’s leading hostile M&A, shareholder activism and complex reorganization transactions. Over the past several years, Mr. Soliman has been involved in almost every major proxy battle in Canada, acting for both issuers and activists. He is widely regarded as one of the leading special situations practitioners in Canada. In addition, his practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, financings, corporate governance and structured products.
Mr. Soliman was the only lawyer recognized in the Globe and Mail’s Report on Business Magazine Power 50 list for 2017; designated as a “Star Lawyer” by Acritas in 2017 for ranking in the top 28 lawyers globally (over 5,000 lawyers) as selected by a panel of over 3,000 senior in-house counsel; was ranked as a leading Canadian corporate lawyer by both Chambers Canada and Lexpert Canada since 2016; was named one of the 25 most influential lawyers in Canada by Canadian Lawyer magazine in 2014; ranked by Best Lawyers in Canada since 2013; and was ranked as one of the Top 40 Lawyers under 40 in Canada by Lexpert magazine in 2009. Among other philanthropic endeavours, Mr. Soliman is a board member of the Toronto SickKids Hospital Foundation.
David Schroeder was, most recently, the Chief Executive Officer of DBRS, the fourth largest bond rating agency in the world. Prior to taking the reins of the company, he served as its Chief Operating Officer from 2006 to 2008. Before assuming his two most recent positions on the Executive Committee, David headed up the Consumer Products, Food Retail, Merchandising, and Grain groups and, prior to that, was a member of a variety of analytical groups on the fundamental side of the business since 1993. Upon exiting DBRS, David now serves as President & Chairman of Colonial House Capital Limited, and focuses on running his family office.
As co-founder of LaBarge Weinstein LLP and the former Managing Partner at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, Debbie has 30 years of experience acting on behalf of public and private companies, venture capital funds, and investment bankers. She has represented issuers and underwriters in numerous Canadian and U.S. public offerings including JDS Fitel Inc., GSI Lumonics Inc., JetForm Corporation and MOSAID Technologies Limited. Debbie has taken the lead role in well over 160 M&A’s, including the sale of companies to Cisco, Ericsson, Microsoft, RIM, Salesforce.com, PMC-Sierra, and Alcatel Lucent. Debbie is a recipient of numerous industry awards and sits on a number of corporate boards, including Open Text Corporation, ZIM Corporation, and Spotwave Wireless Inc., along with a number of non-profit boards.
Larry Torkin was the founding partner of the law firm Torkin, Manes LLP, serving as its managing partner and chief financial officer. In that capacity, he was actively involved with the growth of the firm from its inception in 1974 till 1997, when it comprised of 40 partners and associates and 65 staff members. He was awarded a Q.C. designation in 1987. After his retirement, Larry served a leadership role in the Real Estate Capital Markets Division of a publicly traded securities firm, where he was involved in the securitization and public distribution of real estate investments in Canada, and assisted with several underwritings of real estate companies and REITS. Larry A. Torkin graduated with honours from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1971 and was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1973.
Guy Burry is the Chair of Craigellachie Corporation and serves as a director for several organizations, including Greenchip Financial Corporation; Axsium Group; St. George’s College Foundation Chair; The Taylor Statten Camping Bursary Fund; and Enactus Canada. Guy chairs York University’s Pension Fund Investment Committee and is former Chair of the University’s Investment Committee. He was formally a Governor of York University (including Executive Committee), Vice Chair of the Toronto Atmospheric Fund, Chair of TAF’s Finance and Investment Committee; Knightsbridge Human Capital Solutions (Chair of Talent and Compensation Committee – former Chair of Finance and Audit); a Governor on the Royal St. George’s College Board and Vice Chair of Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare.
After retiring from heading Dylex, Lionel Robins has devoted time and energy to many philanthropic causes, raising millions of dollars over the years to help those in need. An active member of the community, Lionel has served on the Board of Directors of the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation for ten years as well as four years as Chairman of the Foundation. He is a past board member of the Betel Centre for Geriatric Care, the Board of Governors of Mount Sinai Hospital, the Board of Governors of Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care and a member of the executive Group of the UJA Federation. Lionel is currently President of a private investment firm. He has been actively involved in the development and management of several real estate ventures over the past 25 years.
Richard J. G. Boxer has been President of Buckingham Capital Corporation since October 1992. Richard is currently the Director of Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and Manitou Capital Corporation, Member of Advisory Council at Roundtable Capital Partners, and has served as Director of Nerium Biotechnology, Dynamic Oil & Gas Exploration., AlarmForce Industries, Schneider Power, Brass Capital Corp., Chrome Capital, Dominion Energy, Lingo Media Inc. and Lingo Media Corporation, CDI Education Corporation, Blacksteel Energy Inc. and Water Capital Inc. Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts from Queens University in 1971, and MBA from York University, and is a Chartered Accountant.
