Senior Investment Analyst

Prime Quadrant Corp is currently seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Senior Investment Analyst. You will be working on the Investment Team and reporting to the Head of Investments. In this role, you will be responsible for the initial and on-going due diligence of external third-party investments across all asset classes including Public Equity, Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Assets, Hedge Funds and Fixed Income. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience doing due diligence across both public and private markets. Primary Responsibilities

  • Source, screen and lead the due diligence on a wide spectrum of investment opportunities across asset classes including Public Equity, Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Assets, Hedge Funds and Fixed Income.
  • Prepare detailed investment research reports for presentation to the firm’s Investment Committee.
  • Participate in and lead discussions in the firm’s Investment Committee meetings.
  • Support the ongoing due diligence and monitoring of existing investments.
  • Lead meetings with third party managers and write meeting notes.
  • Contribute to the research and formulation of views on various investment strategies under differing macroeconomic environments.
  • Provide input to the asset allocation and portfolio construction process.
  • Assist in the management of the firm’s investment vehicles with the objective of becoming a Portfolio Manager.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the firm’s sourcing, due diligence and monitoring processes.
  • Assist in the analysis of ad hoc investment opportunities on behalf of our clients.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly performance reports.
  • Contribute to the writing of investment primers and white papers on topical subjects.
  • Continually look for ways to automate processes and help make the firm more efficient.
  • Any other tasks and responsibilities assigned to you by the firm.

  • Undergraduate or advanced business degree (e.g. B.Comm, BBA, MBA etc.).
  • CFA, CAIA, Master of Finance or other relevant investment-related designations would be considered an asset.
  • 5-10 years experience doing due diligence with a focus on alternative investments, both liquid (Hedge Funds) and illiquid (Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Estate). Extensive experience in Private Equity and/or Real Estate would be considered a strong positive. You have significant experience leading the entire due diligence process from start to finish and be able to work without support.
  • Excellent understanding of a wide range of financial instruments as well as a solid understanding of common hedge fund and private market strategies.
  • Experience doing due diligence on direct deals and co-investments, particularly in Private Equity and/or Real Estate would be considered an asset.
  • Experience managing a team of investment analysts would be viewed favourably.
  • Experience working as part of a portfolio manager or as part of a portfolio management team will be a positive.
  • Experience working with Salesforce Financial Cloud would be considered an asset.
  • Qualification to be registered with the Ontario Securities Commission (or similar provincial regulator) as an Assistant Advising Representative (“AAR”) or an Advising Representative (“AR”) would be considered favourably.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
